Happy First Day of Fall! 🍂

Hi, Reader,

Happy First Day of Fall! 🍂

As someone who always tries to live with the seasons, I find the solstices and equinoxes especially important days.

If you're trying to live with the seasons more, this is a great day to get outside! Soak up that equinox energy and notice how the plants and animals are responding to the change in daylight and lower temperatures.

I recently published The Ultimate Guide to Slow Living in Fall, which is a perfect read for you today!

It goes over how to shift your energy with the season, different routines to adopt, fun fall bucket list ideas, seasonal foods to shop for, and great recipes to try!

Here are some that I think you'll enjoy:

I'm starting a podcast! I've been dreaming of a slow living podcast for over a year now, and it's finally happening. Learn more about Slow Living for Every Season here.

Since it's the first day of fall, this also means it's the first day of The Seasonal Whisper! If you want to receive cozy snail mail delivered directly to your (actual) mailbox, take a look at this seasonal project from my friend Kathie.

Canning season is still ON! With the end of summer abundance rolling in and the start of fall and winter staples, my canner keeps pretty warm.

If you have a hard time finding produce in bulk where you are, take a look at Azure Standard! They sell cases of seasonal produce in addition to amazing canning jars, grains, nut butters, oils, and more.

Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Enjoy the equinox. :)

Hi, Reader, I've got two things for you today: a new episode of my podcast (!) and a question. First, episode two of Slow Living for Every Season was JUST published. It's all about the idea that "the body is a blessing," which is about shifting your relationship with your body as part of a seasonal, slow lifestyle. Listen Here I'll be honest - things are shifting. I see these two different paths laid out for the blog. One focuses on food and DIY projects, and the other dives deeper into this...

Hey, there! Well, now that it's fully summer, the chaos of summer preserving is starting, and the kitchen is a mess. The garden is producing wonderfully, especially since we doubled the garden space this year, and the berries and summer harvests are starting to roll in from local farms. But I've been finding myself overwhelmed by the overflowing fridge, never-ending to-do list, and lots of summer gatherings. This is a time of year when it's easy to stretch your boundaries a little too thin....

Hey, there! I'm looking out my office window into a gray, foggy neighborhood today, but dreaming of spring flowers and the summer sun. Fortunately, we can add a little sunshine to our lives with fresh citrus! I love citrus season and have my counter full of blood oranges, cara caras, lemons, and more. My hope is that these citrus recipes help you feel a little extra joy and happiness regardless of any dreary skies or slushy snow melt you might be facing. Enjoy! Lemon White Chocolate Scones...
